Changes to the Inclusion Support Subsidy Program

20 August, 2009

"As a single provider we can ensure consistent provision of funding support to assist families in accessing high quality education and care for their children."KU Children's Services, Australia's largest not for profit provider of early childhood education and care, is proud to have been selected as the National Provider of the Australian Government's Inclusion Support Subsidy (ISS) Program.

What will the National ISS Provider do?

The Australian Government has allocated approximately $52 million of funding per year to assist eligible child care services to support the inclusion of children with ongoing high support needs. Children with ongoing high support needs include those with a diagnosed disability, children undergoing continuing assessment for a disability and humanitarian refugee children.KU Children's Services will administer these ISS funds in partnership with fellow not for profit provider, Illawarra Children's Services (ICS) from1 January 2009 to 30 June 2012.

When will the change happen?

Until now the ISS has been administered by 28 different agencies across Australia. We are working with these agencies to ensure a smooth transition to the new system and this will take place over the first six months of 2009.This information has been extracted from the KU Children’s Services Website.www.ku.com.au/supporting-communities/inclusion-support-subsidy.aspx
